Circuit codes are not simple replacement instructions

Ignition codes may be set when the control module sees an electrical problem in the primary or secondary circuit. Check the connector, supply voltage, ground and control signal before assuming the coil itself is defective.

Relate the code to the symptom

A companion cylinder-misfire code can help identify the affected combustion event. Swapping components may be useful on some vehicles, but it should not replace basic wiring inspection or manufacturer procedures.
